November 2004
In less than a year, the 2005 ASSITEJ International Congress comes to this continent for the first time in a decade! Next September 20-30, TYA professionals from all over the world will descend on Montreal, and we hope you can join them. With ASSITEJ International marking its 40th Anniversary in 2005, there is even more to celebrate. In anticipation of this upcoming event, we are devoting ASSITEJ/USA's second edition of NEXT to the many ways we Build Community: Internationally, Nationally and in our own Backyards.
NEXT is ASSITEJ/USA's on-line magazine written by emerging TYA professionals. You are NEXT! We welcome your ideas for articles, your editorial comments, your rebuttals, your descriptions of projects that were wildly successful, and even projects that were train wrecks. We welcome alternative viewpoints, wild notions and outrageous comments. FYI, our third issue, due out Spring 2005, will focus on starting your own TYA company. If you've started your own company or are currently in the planning stages, drop us a line - it's a great way to get the word out! Send your ideas to nextassitej@yahoo.com.
We'd like to give a big "shout-out" to our many contributors who made this issue possible. Special thanks also goes out to Stephanie Lash Kilpatrick, our copy editor, for her superb, last minute, fine-tuning skills.
