About our name change
At the yearly membership meeting in May 2007 at
the One Theatre World Festival in St. Paul, MN, the
membership voted to change the name of the organization from
ASSITEJ/USA to Theatre for Young Audiences/USA: The US
chapter of ASSITEJ, the International Association of Theatre
for Children and Young People.
Why?
The new title more clearly communicates our mission while
maintaining our important connection with the international
organization.
In becoming Theatre for Young
Audiences/USA, we hope to make the organization more
accessible to new members and to colleagues nationally and
internationally.
